I read an amazing quote on Stefan Topfer's www.sme-blog.com/ this quote cited from the book authored by Andrew Grove (the Chairman of Intel corporation) in 1996 by the title - Only the Paranoid Survive: How To Exploit the Crisis Points That Challenge Every Company and Career goes as follows

" We live in an age in which the pace of technological change is pulsating ever faster, causing waves that spread outward toward all industries. This increased rate of change will have an impact on you, no matter what you do for a living. It will bring new competition from new ways of doing things, from corners that you don’t expect"

The quote could not have been any more closer to reality for today's small businesses who are facing a crisis from both sides. On one side Web is changing the way small businesses will operate and putting pressure on them to constantly innovate to keep their existence intact. On the other side, the financial crisis hitting the entire Global World is dramatically reducing the ways a small business can attain financing to sustain or grow.

Hello Readers

After evaluating whether to start my own blog for almost 3 years (in web world you would say 20 years) I finally got the go ahead from my inner self to start one. I would complement my friend Yvonne DiVita who is a famous blogger and specializes in Marketing to Women Online on http://www.lipsticking.com/ to have motivated me all throughout to start a blog of my own and share the vast knowledge that Web Marketing professionals all over the world have.

I am dedicating this Blog to the Small Businesses in the world who are the backbone of the World Economy and who are definitely short on funds to get the best practices to setup web business. This blog will prove to be of great value to small business owners, marketers, agencies who work with small businesses as well as the general marketing community who wants to understand the increasingly complex world of web marketing.

If this blog is able to guide its readers to achieve a better understanding of web marketing or get them thinking about it I will have the satisfaction that my work and labour have been well rewarded. Suggestions to improve the posts of this blog will be highly appreciated.

Lastly this blog is a tribute to my parents who have guided me in my whole life and have provided me the courage and enthusiasm to be able to assist the small business community in the field of my expertise.

Thank you
Manish Puri
